WET SHAVE VIENNA · ONYX CutsWet shave in Vienna — hot towel, razor, time
The classic wet shave is the one part of the craft where the result depends almost entirely on the preparation. Put the razor on straight away and you shave against the hair. Work with the hot towel first and you shave with it.
Why the hot towel isn't decoration
It softens the beard hair and opens the pores. Softened hair can be cut with far less pressure, and less pressure means less irritation. The difference isn't theoretical: if you regularly get redness or ingrown hairs after a shave, you've usually had too little preparation rather than too dull a blade.
How it runs
Hot towel, lathering with the brush, first pass with the grain. Then lather again and a second pass across it. Against the grain only if the skin takes it — on sensitive skin we leave it, and we say so. Cold towel and aftercare at the end.
Who it's worth it for
For anyone who shaves daily and still never feels it was thorough. And for anyone who wants to experience once what it's like when somebody else does nothing else for twenty minutes. With heavy growth the result holds around two days longer than a shave at home.
Häufige Fragen
Was oft gefragt wird
What does a wet shave cost in Vienna?
From €33. It's included in the Signature Full Service — there the whole programme with haircut, beard, shave and facial runs between €110 and €130 depending on hair length.
How long does a classic shave take?
Around 30 minutes. Most of that is preparation and aftercare; the shave itself is the shortest part.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Usually yes, especially then. Say so beforehand and we won't shave against the grain, working with more passes at less pressure instead.
