Searching for the best hairdresser has a catch: it assumes there is one. In fact the answer depends on what you need — a shop that does outstanding fades may be the wrong address for a scissor cut on longer hair. More useful than a ranking is the question of how to recognise the right one.
What actually means something
The number of reviews over time, not the score alone. The length of an appointment in the booking system. Whether the price list is complete or ends in „from“. And whether the same people work there or the cast changes constantly — a signature doesn't form in three months.
What means little
The interior. The address. The follower count. And online rankings: „Top 10 hairdressers in Vienna“ are almost always paid placements or lists generated automatically from map data — neither says anything about the craft. To find out how a shop works, look at result photos and read five reviews in full instead of the average score.
The question before the question
What do you actually want? A fade tidied up every two weeks calls for a different shop than a cut meant to last four weeks. Colour and perms are something else again. Answer that for yourself and you can search specifically — and you'll find it faster than by looking for the best address overall.
What we can do and what we can't
Our craft is the men's cut: fade, taper, undercut, crop, classic with scissors, plus beard and shave. Colour and perms for men as well, with the cut included. What we are not is a women's salon. For long-hair cuts, updos or complex colour techniques others are the better address, and we say so on the phone rather than taking the booking.
