If you're in Vienna for a trade fair, you rarely have half a day and usually have a meeting the next morning. The good news: it's around ten minutes from the exhibition centre to us, and a haircut takes 45. That fits between the build-up and dinner.
The route from the exhibition centre
U2 from Messe-Prater one stop to Praterstern, then tram 5 or about ten minutes on foot to Nordbahnstraße. Ten to fifteen minutes in total. Walking through the Prater it's around 25 minutes — the nicer route in good weather. By taxi, five minutes.
Getting an appointment at short notice
The online booking shows free slots in real time, including the next two hours. If you're flexible and don't need a particular barber, there's almost always something during the week. Mornings and early afternoon are the most reliable; from 17:00 it gets tight.
What's possible in 45 minutes
A complete haircut with consultation, wash, line-ups and styling. For hair and beard, plan an hour. A classic wet shave needs 30 minutes. What doesn't work: colour or a perm between two meetings — they need their time, and less of it comes out of the result.
