Barber courses · Vienna Nordbahnstraße
Over 900 five-star reviews for the team that teaches.
Evenings after closing, in groups of four to six — with one-to-one hours built into every course. On real heads, in a working shop, with a hand on yours when the blend breaks.

Nordbahnstraße 39/1a · this is where we teach
01 — Why you are stuck
Almost everyone who comes to us already cuts. Talent is not what is missing — someone watching and stepping in at the right moment is. Four sentences most people recognise:
The fade works — sometimes
Perfect on one head, a visible line on the next. Because the line is guessed rather than read.
Two hundred videos, no correction
Watching builds a feeling, not a skill. Without someone fixing your hand, you only repeat your mistake more neatly.
A cut takes you fifty minutes
Not because you are slow, but because the order is not settled and you do the same thing three times.
There is no time during the day
Between two clients nobody explains calmly why your blend breaks. That is what the evening is for.
Practising alone reaches a plateau quickly. With correction, skill keeps rising.
02 — How we teach
A fade can be explained beautifully in a group: the structure, the order, where the baseline sits, why a blend breaks. Nobody learns to blend cleanly that way. For that, someone has to stand next to you, take the machine out of your hand and put it back differently — and tell you that you are tilting too early. That is why every course contains a fixed number of one-to-one hours. Not as an upsell, but because it does not work without them.
03 — Your path
You do not have to book everything, and you do not have to start at the beginning. Every course stands on its own, and the specialist modules have no prerequisites. This is the path for someone starting from zero.

04 — One evening
Every course runs in the evening after closing, in the working shop — the same chairs, the same tools, the same conditions as during the day. You do not have to take time off for it.
19:00
Arrive and set up
Set up your station, check your tools, seat your model.
19:10

We explain and show it on a head, with stops and questions along the way.

You work
Everyone at their own station. We come round and correct as you go, not at the end.
20:40
Compare and feedback
Results side by side. Mistakes are easier to see in someone else's work.
21:00
Close
What you practise before the next session is agreed.
05 — Content
Every unit follows the same order: understand it, watch it, do it, be corrected. We repeat until it lands — not until the time runs out.
I
Guiding it, pressure, how the guards relate. What the machine can do, what it cannot — and how to tell beforehand.
II
Low, mid, high, skin. Built as a system rather than by luck, repeatable on any hair type.
III
Where it sits, why it breaks, how to see it coming. Blending until the line disappears.
IV
Posture, comb control, scissor over comb, point cutting. Why they work differently from the clipper.
V
Lines at the forehead, temple and neck. Beard shape to face shape, handling the razor safely.
VI
Crowns, hairlines, growth direction. The consultation and the four questions before every cut.
06 — How it works
01
Pick a course and book a date. If none fits, put your name down — we schedule the next block as soon as enough people are together.
02
Confirmation arrives by email straight away, with every evening of your block and a list of what to bring.
03
Group evenings Tuesday and Thursday, 7 to 9 pm. We arrange the one-to-one hours around your calendar.
04
Issued automatically as a PDF once you have attended in full, with a code anyone can verify online.
07 — Courses and prices
Every course stands on its own. Included in every price: use of tools, course materials, the certificate of attendance and the one-to-one hours. You organise and bring your own models — if you cannot find any, we help you look.

Your name
attended the CUTS 101 programme, comprising 14 teaching units.
08 — Evidence
The Academy is new, and we are only beginning to collect participant feedback. Rather than claim something, here are three things you can check yourself.
09 — Where
We teach in the working shop — the same chairs, the same tools, the same conditions as during the day. No training room, no mannequin as the end goal.

10 — Questions
Still something open? Write to us — we answer ourselves, usually the same day.
Not for CUTS 101 — that course is meant for beginners with little or no experience, as well as career changers and hairdressers moving into men's cutting. CUTS PRO requires CUTS 101 or demonstrable practice; the specialist modules are bookable with no prerequisites.
Always in the evening after closing, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 pm to 9 pm, two full hours without a break. The included one-to-one hours last 60 minutes and are arranged individually, usually before opening or on our closing day.
CUTS 101 costs € 2,290, CUTS PRO € 1,990, a specialist module € 790, the Masterclass € 890, the Barbershop Blueprint € 8,200, and a single one-to-one hour € 240 — € 1,990 for a block of ten. All prices include VAT; use of tools, course materials and the certificate of attendance are included. Payment in two instalments is possible: 50 % on booking, 50 % before the final evening.
Four to six people for the practical courses, five to eight for the Blueprint, three to four for the Masterclass. More is impossible if everyone is to be corrected several times an evening. We would rather run one full course with six people than two half-empty ones with twelve.
Every course has a minimum number. If it is not reached ten days before the start, we move the block to the next date and tell you in good time. Amounts already paid carry over to the new date, or are refunded in full if you prefer.
Up to 14 days before the course starts you get the full amount back; between 14 and 7 days, half. After that, or if you do not show up, there is no entitlement to a refund; you may move once to a later block. One-to-one hours can be rescheduled free of charge up to 48 hours beforehand.
Yes. Depending on the course you need one or two models, which you organise and bring yourself — friends, family, colleagues, anyone willing to be cut. A single evening needs one; a multi-part block needs two, because you cannot cut the same head six times in a row. The number is stated with each course. There is a reason for it: you practise on a head whose hair you know and which you will keep cutting after the course. If you cannot find anyone, tell us in good time and we will help — nobody has to miss an evening over it. Tools for the course are provided; you are welcome to bring your own, and we will look at them and tell you what is worth keeping.
After attending in full you receive a certificate of attendance stating the content, the scope and an individual verification code that can be checked online. Deliberately not called a diploma: we set no examination, and what we confirm is attendance. Our courses replace neither an apprenticeship nor training under the Austrian Vocational Training Act, and lead to no state-recognised qualification and no trade licence. For applications, a portfolio and client trust, it still counts.
We are always looking for good people. Participants who convince us during a course are invited to a trial day in the working shop — with no obligation on either side. Taking a course is neither a job offer nor a requirement for applying, but afterwards we know you better than any CV could tell us.
Depending on the course, that is three to five sign-ups. The groups stay small because everyone should be corrected several times an evening — that is why there are no large classes, and why a block sometimes has to wait. If no date suits, put your name down.
Rather talk to someone? Write to us — we get back to you the same day.
