Two shops charging €30 and €45 can cost the same in the end, because the cheaper one bills the wash, the styling and the line-ups separately. The number worth comparing is the one on the receipt, and the thing worth comparing is how much time the appointment gets.
The cuts we work with
Fades in every height, from a low fade that grows out gently to a skin fade with the sharpest contrast. Tapers, which are the kinder option if you have a low hairline or a crown at the back. Crops with texture, which work on fine hair where a hard fade would show scalp. Classic scissor cuts for anyone who wants shape rather than length taken off. And buzz cuts, where the line-ups are what make the difference.
How an appointment runs
We look first: crown, hairline, growth direction, how your hair falls when left alone. That becomes a suggestion, not a sales pitch. Then the wash — wet hair cuts more precisely. The cut takes about half an hour, then the line-ups at forehead, temple and neck with a straight razor. Styling at the end, plus which product to use, how much of it and in what order.
How long it lasts
Three to four weeks for a classic cut, two to three for a fade, ten to fourteen days for a skin fade. That is arithmetic rather than craft: hair grows about a centimetre a month, and the shorter the base, the more a millimetre shows. If you want the line permanently sharp, come every two weeks; if you can live with it softening, every four.
