Open your own barbershop · EuropeFranchiseThe shop is built.
We hand over what works here: the concept, our own software, the training and the hundred small things you would otherwise spend two years working out. For people who want to build a barbershop without starting from zero.
01
The same shop, two ways to get there
The work is the same either way. The difference is how often you have to guess — and what each guess costs you.

What you hold on day one
Not a manual to read alone. Six parts that are finished when you open.
The concept
Premium segment, not headcount. The return comes from the ticket per chair, not from how many heads pass through in a day — that is the arithmetic that carries a location. Prices by hair length, so the demanding work does not eat the margin. Fixed times per service, so the diary stays plannable instead of being filled on spec.
The fit-out
Floor plan, materials, lighting, signage — the decisions you make once and then look at for ten years. Plus the list of equipment that has proven itself, and the list that hasn't.
The brand
The right to open under ONYX® — a registered wordmark, not a name someone may put up next door tomorrow. Plus symbol, typography, photography, capes, print and a website for your city on the same footing as this one, with your prices and your team.
The people
How to find barbers, what you must offer so they stay, and how to bring them up to standard. Training through the ONYX Academy — the same courses we teach here, for your team.
Purchasing
Access to our suppliers and terms — you buy at the volume of every location, not your own. Plus own-label care products: a second income sitting on a shelf rather than in a chair, costing no extra hours.
The support
Before opening we go through location, costing and build-out together. Afterwards we are reachable when something jams. Not a manual you read alone.
03
The name is protected, not just handsome
A franchise whose name belongs to everyone is not a franchise, it is a template. ONYX is registered as a wordmark with the Austrian Patent Office — for precisely the activities this is about. Someone who wants to open under the same name in your city cannot simply do so.
ONYX®
Registered for
- Hairdressing and barbershop services
- Cosmetic treatments
- Foot care
- Nail care and nail styling
Registered wordmark ONYX®, Austrian Patent Office, register number 336470 — verifiable in the register. What is registered is “ONYX”; the addition “Cuts” is not covered. For locations outside Austria we settle the filing in the relevant register before signing — it is part of what you receive, not something you have to arrange yourself.
04
Ten tools, or one
This is the part no other barbershop hands over, because no other owns it: we built our operating software ourselves. Till, payments, appointments, stock, purchasing, staff administration, training and reporting are not eight programs talking to each other over interfaces — it is one. An appointment becomes a payment, becomes a receipt, becomes a stock movement, becomes a figure in the reporting, with nobody retyping anything. It is not rented, and nobody can switch it off or reprice it tomorrow.

- Reporting
- A till with signed receipts compliant with Austrian law, wired to the register — adaptable to the rules where you are
- Card and online payment in the same system: the receipt comes out of the payment, not alongside it
- Booking on your own domain rather than on a platform that lists your competitors beside you
- Staff administration with roles and permissions — who may see and change what is written down, not held in one person's head
- Purchasing, stock and reordering, tied to till and online shop: what sells comes off the count
- Reporting on revenue, services, chair utilisation and repeat rate — the figures you steer a location by
- An online shop for care products including shipping, invoices and returns
- Gift cards that land in the buyer's inbox as a PDF seconds after payment
- Training through the Academy: courses, enrolments, progress and verifiable certificates
- A website with its own page for every service and every district of your city — the reason we are found on Google without paying for it
- Automatic syncing of prices and review counts, so nothing has to be maintained by hand
- Mail dispatch for confirmations, reminders, invoices and certificates
05
Where the clients come from
The most expensive item of a new salon appears on no fit-out list: that nobody knows it exists. There are two ways to fix that, and they differ not in effort but in who owns the client afterwards.
Through a booking platform
- Commission on every new client, permanently
- Your competitors sit on the same page
- The client's details belong to the platform
- If the platform changes its terms, you change nothing
Through your own site
- 88 pages for services and districts, each with its own text
- Booking happens on your domain
- Client data and reviews stay with you
- What ranks once costs nothing from then on
06
What we expect
We are looking for few partners, not many. Better one location a year that works than five you have to explain afterwards.
- 01A European city with enough people and a quarter where they pay for craft
- 02Capital for the build-out, the fit-out and the first months — the figure depends on city and floor area, and we work it through with you
- 03You are on site. A barbershop whose owner is never in the shop becomes a shop like any other
- 04Standards. Anyone who cuts corners to free the chair faster does not fit this concept
- 05German or English for working together; your city's language for your clients
07
From enquiry to first client
About four months from the first message to the first client. It moves quickly because most of it already exists — concept, software, website and training do not have to be developed, only set up. Exactly one item can stretch: the space.
- Week 1
Enquiry
The form below. City, idea, scope. We reply within two working days.
- Week 2
Conversation
An hour on video. What you have in mind, what we offer, whether it fits. No obligation either way.
- Week 3
A day in Vienna
You spend a day in the shop, see how it runs and talk to the team. We advise nobody to sign without that day.
- Month 2
Numbers and contract
Location review, costing for your city, pre-contractual documents. Both sides have them checked by a lawyer before signing.
- Month 2–4
Build-out
Works, fit-out, technology, staff, training. Software and website are up in days, not months — they are built; your city, your prices and your team go into them.
- From month 4
Opening
We are on site for the first week. After that, in contact as closely as you need.

The more precise you are, the faster we can say whether it fits. Everything you write stays between us.
